He also promoted international trade by becoming the first Japanese company on the NYSE in 1961.
Masaru Ibuka
Born in Tochigi Prefecture in 1908, Ibuka was an engineer.
He led Sony's tech innovation.
He founded Tokyo Tsushin Kogyo (later Sony) in 1946.
He developed many first-in-Japan and first-in-the-world products.
His motto was "do what others won't." He played a crucial role in developing products using transistor technology.
