Ninigi-no-Mikoto: Bringing Peace to Japan

A long time ago, Amaterasu, the sun goddess, ruled the heavens.

She heard the cries from chaotic Japan and felt deep compassion.

To help, she sent her grandson, Ninigi-no-Mikoto. He had three sacred treasures—a jewel for kindness, a mirror for wisdom, and a sword for bravery.

A brave young prince, Ninigi, descended on a floating bridge to Japan. Awestruck, the people watched him.

Once on Earth, Ninigi faced many challenges.

He met Sarutahiko, a powerful earth deity. After a peaceful talk, Sarutahiko pledged to guide him.

Ninigi fell in love with Konohana-no-Sakuyahime. She was the blossom princess.
But he was cursed to have short-lived descendants. He didn't choose her sister, Iwanagahime, too.

Sakuyahime proved her loyalty. Some doubted her pregnancy. She survived a fire unharmed with her sons.

Ninigi's grandson was Jimmu. Jimmu lost the sacred sword, Kusanagi. It was later found.

These trials taught Ninigi to trust, love, and be responsible.

He settled in Japan and married Sakuyahime. Their descendants formed Japan's imperial line. They linked the heavens and Earth.

This story is a vital part of Japanese heritage. It links the heavens and the Earth through many trials.
